Paddle Board/Sailing Classes Offered 5/20/2013
Lake Max Life and Culver Park Department are sponsoring the following classes:
Paddle Board/Sailing Class
10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 25
Ages 9 to 18 years, parents need to be present

Culver Beach Opening 5/13/2013
The Culver Beach officially opens for the summer season Saturday, May 25. Lifeguards will be on duty from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Family Beach Passes Available 5/13/2013
The Culver Park and Recreation Department will be selling family beach passes beginning Saturday, May 25th. Culver/Union Twp. Passes are $45 for the family. Passes for family members outside of this area are $60.

Fly Fishing Class 4/29/2013
Beginning Fly Fishing: Saturday June 15, 2013 from 9 a.m. to noon. Learn when and why fly fishing is the right tool for the task. Gain an understanding of what weight fly rod and fly line to use for various fishing. Learn a little bit about leaders and tippet as well as fly line types (SF, DT, etc.), fly fishing safety and etiquette, and types of flies. Learn basic casting techniques and the five casting principles that help you become more proficient in handling casting situations. Fly casting is not difficult, but it does use different motions than other types of fishing. Learn the basics in tying, knots, and bugs. Class is limited to 5 participants. Minimum age is 11 years of age. Total cost for each participant is $10. Equipment will be supplied. Please contact Kelly Young, Park Supt., at 574-842-3510 to register.

Swimming Lessons 4/24/2013
The Culver Park Department will offer three sessions of swimming lessons this summer. Registration will take place June 3 through June 12 and the cost is $25 per child.
Session dates are as follows:
Session 1 - June 17 - June 26
Session 2 - July 1 - July 11
Session 3 - July 22 - July 31
Times will be determined at a later date.

Golf Cart Permits Now Available 1/24/2013
If you have a golf cart you plan to drive within the town limits, you need to have a golf cart permit. They are available at Town Hall for $25 and need to be renewed each year. Please bring the following information: year, make and model of the golf cart and proof of insurance. If you have any questions, please call Town Hall at 574-842-3140.
